Hello Lovely Readers,
So today I wanted to let you know about a rather neat event that is happening this weekend in Nottingham. On the 7th and 8th of June (this weekend) it will be the 5th Annual Bold Strokes Book Festival. I went last year for the first day and had a great time, and I will be there again for the first day this year (trains just don’t work for making it on Sunday). It is a great event for anyone interested in LGBTQ literature. It is a great chance to mingle with authors and editors from the company. Even better is there are book pitches for aspiring writers to try and get their books published. And I found a great place for new bloggers to start talking to other people who love books.
I went last year without knowing anyone, and made some very great friends. The whole group is rather welcoming, and it isn’t too large that you will feel lost in the crowd. There are plenty of books for sale so you can check out what sorts of work BSB publishes, and last year many authors read excerpts from their newest or upcoming books. Plus Nottingham is a nice place to just wander! You can check out more information on the link above of the flier below!
Let me know if any of you are going to be there! Or if you have any questions about the event (if I can’t answer I know a couple people who can!)
Until next time,
